A few days ago, I heard the old Seals & Crofts hit song "Hummingbird" on the radio.  I was somewhat surprised when I realized how spiritual the lyrics are!   Back in the seventies, I wasn't that interested in spiritual development yet, so I didn't notice.  I found these lines especially interesting:

"Haven't you noticed the days, somehow keep getting longer?
    And the spirit voices whisper in us all.
Haven't you noticed the rays?  The spirit sun is stronger
    And a new day is dawning for us all."

I'm going to have to take a closer look at some of their other songs.

I often refer to the angels, saints, and other holy being in the spirit world as Light Beings.  These quote may help you understand why:

• "The Lord is my Light"  - Psalm 27 (also the motto of Oxford University)
• "Light is the only reality" - the Tibetan Book of the Dead
• "Light is a living spirit" - Omraam Mikhael Aivonhov
• "You appeared as light, illuminating me completely" - St. Simeon

In crime this week, I couldn't help but laugh at the story about the two muggers who thought a teenage cheerleader would be an easy target.  The seventeen year old punched one mugger, kicked the second in the groin, then beat them both with her baton until they ran off defeated.
