A Spiritual Vacation

We all need a vacation occasionally and that includes spiritual people as well as materialistic types.  In fact, it may even be more important for spiritual people to take a vacation and get away from the materialistic pursuits and problems of their everyday life.      Today, spiritual vacations are readily available such as religious retreats, yoga and natural health spas, etc, but a spiritual vacation can be almost any vacation.  It doesn't have to be full of quite solitude, yoga classes and fasting.  A spiritual vacation can be an active vacation if that is what works best for you.  It can be an educational vacation where you visit and learn about ancient sacred sites and spiritual teachings like the one I will be taking to Greece next month.  It can be any vacation where you get close to nature such as hiking in the woods or sailing on the seas.  Even a commercial cruise will work well for some people if you choose the correct ship and shore excursions.  I personally find SCUBA diving very peaceful and relaxing and that's the point.  Whatever you choose, it is important for all of us to get away from our everyday activities and give ourselves an opportunity to recharge and to see things in a new perspective.
