In my short Easter poem titled WHITE, I used the line:

"A blizzard of egrets descending on a lake"

That image came from a calendar I have from the Cleveland Amory Black Beauty Ranch, a charity that provides shelter for many animals. Animals like horses and eliphants that most shelters can't accept.   I can't post that picture without permission, but this video on youtube will give you an idea of what I meant by "A blizzard of egrets".  I encourage you to have a look at the Black Beauty Ranch web site also and make a donation.

By the way, in the International Community of Christ, we always celebrate Easter on April 18th.  That is the day of the first Easter (by which I mean the resurrection of Jesus, not the original Easter that was dedicated to the pagan goddess of spring, Aester) and there is no reason to move it around so it is  the Sunday after Passover since those two events are not connected.

More Crazy Crimes and Dumb Criminals:

When police took in an 18 year old guy in Florida after he crashed his SUV and failed a sobriety test, he gave the alibi that he wasn't drunk, just high on marijuana.  I guess he didn't realize that's a crime also.

You know how bank robbers are often given a stack of money with an exploding dye pack in it to help identify them later?  One crook got caught when he tried to buy something with those dyed bills.

In March, a court ruled that an employer had violated the fair labor standards act by not paying overtime.  The employer was the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission.

Highway Karma —  A 25 year old guy in Texas was killed when he was thrown from a car driven by a drunk friend.  That 25 year old had hit and killed two people when he was drunk driving seven months earlier.
