Fumble
We all fumble at one time or another. It may not be football. It can be a missed basket in basketball or a missed pitch in baseball or even a missed strike in bowling. It doesn't have to be limited to sports either. It can be a bad investment, a bad purchase, a bad choice of a friend, etc. Everybody makes mistakes.
Unfortunately, some people let one mistake prevent them from trying again. A bad investment means they won't invest again, no matter how safe the investment. A bad choice of mates and they decide to stay single. And in the worse cases, a fumbled football in high school or college means they think of themselves as failures for the rest of their lives. This is not the way it should be.
We all make mistakes, so we need to think of those mistakes as a learning experience and an opportunity to improve. We have to continue to look to the future rather than getting stuck in the past and we have to get over our mistakes and move on. This is just as true in our quest for spiritual enlightenment as it is in any other aspect of our life.
