Book Review: Sona: Healing with Wave Front BIOresonance

Sona: Healing with Wave Front BIOresonance
By Gary Robert Buchanan

I briefly mentioned this book in a previous post before I finished reading it.  Now that I have finished it, I thought I should write a review.
Gary Buchanan is a composer, conductor and music researcher, among other talents.  He has researched for years the use of sound in healing.  In recent years, he has done a lot of research based on the Cymatics healing as created by Dr. Manners in England and only recently spreading to America.
This book is a vast reservoir of research and piratical practical application of BIOresonance and other forms of vibrational healing.  The author provides information about many others working in this field and provides web sites for many of them so readers can look at those they find interesting in more depth.
Mr. Buchanan points out important it is to do proper scientific research in this area of healing methodologies rather than just assuming that ancient healing sounds are the best.  They may have been the best available at the time, but modern technology allows for greater accuracy in tuning ti the precise frequencies that heal the best with the least dangers of side effects.
While being very scientific, Buchanan does not shy away from mentioning psychic and spiritual influences and how those levels are helped with vibrational healing as well as the physical.
This book was written primarily with an intended audience of professional musicians, therapists, and others involved in the rapidly growing field of vibrational therapy so it gets rather technical for the average person, but I thing it is a fascinating read and instruction manual for those interested in natural healing and spiritual development.

A few brief quotes from the book to give you some idea of what it's about:

A standard discourse among composers during late evening conversations over beer,
wine and cheese, but never really taken seriously as an aesthetic principle to be followed — or even studied — the relationship of pitch (music) to color and other psychological cross-modal perceptions has been on the minds of musicians, scientists, painters, spiritualists and a host of others throughout recorded history.

Wave Front Bioresonance involves the introduction of “corrective” or “healing” frequencies and resonances, delivered as “wave fronts” of acoustical spheres of sound

The relatively new science of Archaeological Acoustics teaches us a great deal about how the ancients built their homes, cities, and sacred monuments so as to embody the best possible acoustics.

As you can see, it covers a wide range of material.  Because this is a limited publication aimed at professionals, it is priced similar to professional and technical books, but, it is my understanding that Buchanan is working with a major publisher to develop a less technical version that will be mass produced for the general public.  You can buy the current version here, or find out more by joining, or at least reading, the forum here.
