Solar Miracles
It is interesting to me how a lot of miracles involve the sun. The major one for the Christians is the Miracle of Fatima which I described here before and I'll repeat that condensed version of the story.
At Fatima, Mary appeared to three shepherd children in 1917. For months, many flocked to Fatima to hear what Mary had to say and, hopefully, to witness miracles. Probably the best known miracle is known as the miracle of the sun. During the last visit, the sun was seen by many to change colors, rotate, zigzag and fall toward the earth only to return back to it's normal position. Three visions were left with the children by Mary.
Here are a few quotes from eyewitnesses:
This interesting video shows strange solar phenomena occurring at Medjugorji, a sight of claimed miracles though not recognized as such by the Catholic Church. While this video may be meaningless (inexpensive video equipment will act strangly when pointed directly at the sun without proper filtration), Witnesses describe the solar phenomena in similar terms to the witnesses at Fatima.
And let's not forget some other less direct references in the Bible. The bright star in the east that led the Magi to Jesus. The pillar of light that led Moses. The burning bush that instructed Moses. etc.
So what is really happening with all these strange phenomena involving the sun, or sun-like globes of light? Some would say it's UFOs, by which they mean alien spacecraft. Others, thats it's all hallucination, i.e., "I didn't see it so it can't be real". I have another explanation.
The phenomena witnessed in these places, particularly at Fatima are manifestations of the spiritual sun, not the physical sun. Skeptics are quick to point out that if the sun bounced around and moved like that it would cause everything from earthquakes, to planets changing their orbits around the sun, or being burned to cinders. I Agree with that - if you limit the phenomena to the physical sun - but the spiritual sun, or Sun of Righteousness has no mass, no gravity, and doesn't follow the laws of physical science because it isn't physical. Those of us in the International Community of Christ don't doubt these phenomena because, to a somewhat lesser extent, we see the sun bobbing and changing shape when we practice our spiritual techniques at sunrise, especially when we do it together at Redrock.

"To my surprise, I see clearly and distinctly a globe of light advancing from east to west, gliding slowly and majestically through the air...Suddenly the globe with its extraordinary light vanished, but near us a little girl of about ten continues to cry joyfully: 'I still see it! I still see it! Now it is going down!'"
"The sun's disc did not remain immobile. This was not the sparkling of a heavenly body, for it spun round on itself in a mad whirl, when suddenly a clamor was heard from all the people. The sun, whirling, seemed to loosen itself from the firmament and advance threateningly upon the earth as if to crush us with its huge fiery weight. The sensation during those moments was terrible."
In Vedic writings we find reference to bright globes of light in the sky. This interesting video shows strange solar phenomena occurring at Medjugorji, a sight of claimed miracles though not recognized as such by the Catholic Church.
