If you have ever gone on a Caribbean vacation or cruise and done a dolphin swim or dolphin adventure where the group gets in the water with dolphins you may remember that pregnant woman are banned from this activity. The usual assumption people make is that this is to protect her and the baby from possible, unintentional, harm by the dolphins. The truth is essentially just the opposite. If a pregnant women gets in the water with dolphins, the dolphins will often surround her to protect her from any harm.
I saw on CNN that the current economic situation has caused some schools to tell students to bring their own toilet paper. At the office building where I work, they took another odd cost-cutting measure. The janitorial service was reduced and we all now have to empty the waste baskets by our desks ourselfs. If your school or office is doing something strange and funny to save money, let me know and I'll post the stories here.
There have been a rash of celebrity apologies in the news recently. Unfortunately, most of them seem to be apologizing for getting caught rather than for what they did. SOme people forget that an apology is supposed to be recognition that you did something wrong and will try to do better in the future, not that you regret that you got caught and now have to do damage control.
Crazy Crime:
In January, Alaska had a lottery to benefit the organization Standing Together Against Rape. The $500,000 top prize was won by a twice convicted sex offender.
Two drug addicts in Seattle stole identities and forged checks with those IDs to pay for their drugs. The identities they stole belonged to judges.

That's fascinating about the dolphins. They are amazing! When Phil and I swam with them in a group a lady peed in the water and the dolphin told on her and wouldn't come over to do the swim until she moved to the side of the pool. I'm sure glad it wasn't me!
On the celebrity apologies, I don't think their sincere at all much of the time. They don't even write them they have people that write them and tell them what to say and do.

I suspect the dolphins had been trained to squeal on people who pee in the water. After all, they do. Dolphins are amazing though.
