The Electromagnetic Universe

I previously mentioned on this blog that magnetism is  a much more powerful force than gravity, yet most scientist, even though they accept that fact, think it is gravity that holds the universe together.
If you saw the movie "The Core" a few years ago you know how important the earth's magnetic field is.  The magnetic field is believed to be created by the iron core of the planet spinning faster than the rest of the planet.  In the movie, mad scientists and the military stop the spinning core when they test a new super weapon that they just had to create because of rumors that the other side had one.  The stopping of this spin results in earthquakes, severe electrical storms, and the failure of the Van Allen Belt to block harmful radiation, specifically microwaves.  Birds become confused and fly into things.  People with pacemakers die when the magnetic fluctuations stop their pacemakers.  Much of this is pure fiction, but still indicates how important magnetism is for the planet.
One thing many don't seem to be aware of is that all living things, including humans, generate an electromagnetic field.  Since magnetic fields affect other magnetic fields, our fields are affected by the earths magnetic field.  For example, some sleep studies have shown that you will sleep better if your head faces north.  That way, your magnetic field is flowing with the field of the planet rather than against it which creates tension.  Another effect we have seen on living things is the beaching of whales and dolphins.  While the cause is not always known, some are believed to be caused by sonar from ships confusing the whales, but another theory is that changes in the magnetic field of the planet are confusing them.  Are changes in the magnetic field of the earth and the sun having other effects on all living things on the planet?  It might explain some of the weird behavior of both humans and animals.
We know the earths magnetic field is tilted twenty-three degrees away from the physical north pole.  Some of the more radical scientists say this happened about 11,500 years ago when evidence indicates some great catastrophe stuck the planet.  So what exactly happened?  There are many theories.  At least two of them involve magnetic fields.
One theory says that the earth's magnetic field reversed causing the planet to flip over making north become south and south become north.  This would cause tidal waves hundreds, if not thousands of feet high flooding virtually all land.  This would explain why remains of both land and sea creatures from various climates have been found together in caves hundreds of feet above see level and in area that are now deserts.
Another theory says it was actually the magnetic field of the sun that reversed causing the planets to slow down, stop, and reverse in their orbits around the sun.  This is a very radical, and frightening scenario, but there is some evidence to back it up.  Like why did so many advanced ancient civilizations have 360 day calendars?  They should easily have been able to calculate that it was 365 days, unless it really was 360 up until whatever happened 11,500 years ago.
So what does all this have to do with spiritual development?  Plenty.  First, spiritual people are more likely to survive these periodic catastrophes because they are more able to adjust to change.  Second, spiritual people develop some immunity to the psychic illnesses that affect others and are more able to resist harmful radiation and energy fields.
