Only four years left until Dec 21, 2012 (or Dec 23, 2012 depending on which predictions you listen to).  We are beginning to see some of the drastic changes predicted for the end times.  
    The most obvious is the current economic crisis that has become essentially worldwide.  This is, as some have predicted, a necessary step to bring a change from a greed and profit based economy to a service based one and by that I don't mean that there won't be manufacturing but the corporations will learn to manufacture what people actually need and want rather than making whatever they want to sell, then spending millions on advertising to convince us to buy it.
    With many in this country and other parts of the world getting wary of constantly being at war, militarism is starting to feel the pinch also.  And with reduced tax money because so many are out of work, governments can't spend as much on building the latest weapons. 
    People are getting wary of politicians who don't keep their promises and the various methods they have for getting money under the table from corporations, individuals, and foreign countries.
    In medicine, the continued rising of costs while, overall, the health of Americans continues to deteriorate, is causing changes to happen their as well.  If you really think about it, how totally wrong is it to provide health care as a for-profit business?  
    In short, we are seeing a change from a very materialistic and profit oriented society to one that is more spiritual.  While that will unfortunately cause some difficulties, that pain is necessary to give birth to the new age of enlightenment.
