Scripture: The Odes of Solomon 23:5-9

And His thought was like a letter; His will descended from on high, and it was sent like an arrow which is violently shot from the bow:
And many hands rushed to the letter to seize it and to take and read it:
And it escaped their fingers and they were affrighted at it and at the seal that was upon it.
Because it was not permitted to them to loose its seal: for the power that was over the seal was greater than they.
But those who saw it went after the letter that they might know where it would alight, and who should read it and who should hear it.

Much of the wisdom of God is hidden from us until we are capable of understanding it and using it for the correct purpose which is to serve and aid God.  Many, if they learned the true nature of God, creation and the universe, would use that knowledge for their own benefit (or apparent benefit as in the long run it would actually harm them to use this knowledge for personal gain) so, for their protection, as well as the protection of those who would be harmed by letting such people have this knowledge, this knowledge is sealed, some of it until a certain time, and some, until we have reached a certain level of spiritual wisdom that we can be trusted with such knowledge.  You wouldn't try to teach quantum mechanics or brain surgery in the first grade.  Likewise, God's wisdom is revealed slowly to those who are ready for it and hid from those who would abuse it.  And when that knowledge is revealed to some, they are careful to not reveal it to the unworthy by never writting it down or writing it only in a codified form which cannot be understood unless you know the key to the code used.  Much of scripture is coded for that reason and, sadly, many are not aware that it is in code, so try to interpret all of it literally, which results in false and contradictory beliefs.
