AIDS Awareness Day

Today is AIDS awareness day.  Many people believe that AIDS is a thing of the past.  They think AIDS can be cured.
AIDS cannot be cured yet, only controlled.  And controlling it is not always successful.  About 33 million people are living with AIDS or HIV, about 2.5 million are children.  In addition, many children have become orphans because of the death of parents from AIDS.  There are about a half million in the USA with AIDS/HIV.  Many are unaware that one of the most common ways that AIDS is spread is through drug needles.  The best tool for fighting the spread of AIDS is education so support the AIDS education organizations.  For more information, click here for the World AIDS Day site.
