Singing with a choir is a lot better than singing by yourself, especially if your not a really good singer.  You can do better by synchronizing your voice with others who are better singers.  
    Developing spiritually works the same way.  You can accomplish some by yourself, but you can accomplish much more as part of an organized group.  That is because the frequencies, the vibrations coming from those in the group who are more developed than you are helps you to reach those higher vibration rates that have, sadly, become very foreign to most of us.  This is what Jesus was talking about when he said that wherever three or more meet in His name, there He would be. 
    So if you really want to accomplish something on your path to spiritual enlightenment, join a group of like-minded people who work together to achieve that goal.
