Random Thoughts 10-19-2008

I think I caught a cold while in Reno, so I'm taking it easy this weekend to recoup.  As usual though, after returning from a trip, I don't have any articles left in draft form to post so I need to start writing new ones.

I got two cds of Greek to try to learn a few common words and phrases before the trip next year.  Unfortunately, I'm not very good at learning languages, but I like to learn a few things before I go to a country so I can at least say "hello" and "thank you" in the local language.

The idea of telecommuting started in the 1980s yet those who telecommute regularly are still a small minority.  With increased gas prices and the cost of office space increasing, it may be time for companies to rethink the issue and encourage more telecommuting, especially since recent studies have shown that the fear of managers that employers won't perform when working from home are unfounded.

The Speakers Bureau at International Community of Christ is looking for opportunities to speak about our church and it's teachings.  If you know of a college, church, or other organization that would be interested, you can comment to this post.  Obviously, this can't be a group with five members.  It would have to be at least fifty.

What did you think of this article?

You might want to try Rosetta Stone. It is supposed to be the best product on the market to learn a new language.

Rosetta Stone is the best if you really want to learn a language.  In this case, I just want to learn a few simple phrases.
