Some writers and researchers believe that the coming alignment of the sun with the galactic center will cause the drastic changes on the planet written about in various end time prophecies.  
    While I think that this, and other celestial events are signs of those changes, I don't think I want to believe they will cause the changes.  I prefer to believe that God will cause the changes, whatever they may be.  If the changes are caused simply by the movement of planets and stars, then we have no choice and nothing we do will change what is coming.  But if God is the one causing the changes, than what happens at that time in 2012 remains uncertain.  God may give us up as hopeless and abandon us, or he may decide we are worth saving.  Despite all that has happened, and is happening in the world, God would not have sent the promised Sun of Righteousness to help awaken people to their spiritual selves, their true selves, unless he thought it was still possible for us to be redeemed.
