ICC: Advocates for Religious Rights & Freedoms

It dawned on me that while I've written a little about the International Community of Christ and a few of the affiliated organizations, I've mostly relied on readers to follow the links to get more details.  I've decided that I will post a few articles about some of these organizations and, if you find them interesting, you can then follow the links for more details.  I'll start with the Advocates for Religious Rights & Freedoms.
The purpose of the Advocates for Religious Rights & Freedoms is to protect and promote the concept that all people everywhere should have the right to practice their religious or spiritual beliefs without interference from governments, employers or social organizations.  Fortunately, here in the United States, there is not much interference in these rights, but in many other countries, that is not the case.  There are the obvious ones like Iran, where the government is completely controlled by one religion and other faiths are strongly suppressed, but there are more subtle ones as well.  For example, while I can't be considered a fan of Scientology, I do think it was wrong for Germany, a supposedly democratic nation, to deny Tom Cruise the right to go there because he is a Scientologist.
To document its mission, the Advocates for Religious Rights & Freedoms  composed the document titled The Universal Proclamation of Human Spiritual Rights.  I was not a member when the original document was written, but several years ago it was rewritten, primarily to make it more gender neutral.  I was present when this one was adopted and signed it along with the other members present.
