Sometimes, before we can learn something new, we have to forget what we already "know".   Specifically, in order to learn about the spiritual world (or worlds of Light) you have to forget some of the things you were told were real and some of the things you were told were fantasies.  
    You probably "know", for example, that a rock is a very hard, solid object.  Quantum mechanics now tells us that solid rock is mostly empty space with a little bit of energy, or light, vibrating in it.  
    You were probably taught that things are what they are and we have little control over it.  Now the quantum physicists are telling us we, as the observers, are creating what we think is reality, but is more like that mirror in Harry Potter that lets you see what you want to see , but it's not real at all.
    You probably "Know" that man came to this planet very recently and evolved from apes.  Actually, as a spiritual being, man was here long before the first ape.  In fact, long before the first tiny one-celled amoeba.
    And you probably 'know" that civilization began about five thousand years ago in Egypt and China.  In fact, there were civilizations long before then, but they were destroyed by disease or natural disasters such as the last ice age.
    Those are just a few examples of the things you were taught and accepted as true that you have to now consider as possibly false if you want to develop spirituality and awaken your immortal soul.  So one of the first steps to spiritual development is to have an open mind.
