We are all part of the one, as I've mentioned here before.  And if you believe that anything is sacred, than everything is sacred since all is one.  Everything is sacred because even the most evil person or object has something of God within.  
    Holly people understand this which is why they always help everyone with tolerance and humility.  They know that they are not perfect or they would already have ascended into heaven so they are not in a position to judge others.  They can recognize right and wrong behaviour, but they don't judge individuals.  People like Ghandi and Mother Teresa served the downtrodden in humility and love because they recognized that we are all one and so we need to care for each other and help each other.  
    If your hand was diseased you would see a doctor to get it cured.  You wouldn't just cut it off and let it fend for itself.  Yet, that it what we do when we ignore those less fortunate than ourselves.  Those with mental or physical ailments.  Those who are having financial difficulties.  Most important of all for those working toward spiritual enlightenment, helping those who are spiritually lost or bankrupt to find the way.
    And we all learn from each other.  Even the most uneducated has something to teach.  Engineers have learned to design powerful machines by studying how insects move and lift things.  And slimy, stinky mold gave us penicillin.
