Spreading the Word
When we first get into a new spiritual development program, we have a natural desire to tell friends and family and get them in it also. We are usually disappointed when they don't show the same enthusiasm we have for it. We should not let this cause us to doubt what we are doing or to be disappointed in our friends.
One reason they may not be interested is that they are simply on a different path at the present time. Another reason is that they simply are not ready for spiritual development and trying to talk them into it is a waste of time. Pushing too hard to convince them to join you may only cause them to get angry with you and that is not what you want.
The best thing to do is just tell friends and family the benefits you are getting from the spiritual development program. If your less stressed, better mental and physical health, more loving, tolerant and understanding, they will notice those changes in you and want to know what is causing it. That is the time to tell them and, if they continue to show interest, then get them involved. Or, you could just blog about it.
We also shouldn't try to be a spiritual teacher when we haven't learned the material and developed our spiritual side sufficiently. That is why I stick to basics on this blog. I only teach what I know to be true.
