Can the human race become extinct?  Most people will quickly reply "no" because humans are special, but are we?  Do we act special or are most of us acting just like wild animals,  no different from a bear or a wolf?  
    Teenage girls beat up another to get on youtube.  Teenage boys jump into a patch of cactus or a pile of broken glass for the same reason.  Fifteen minutes of fame, that's all that matters, no matter how you get it.   Extreme sports where the show is considered a failure if no one gets killed or seriously injured.  People shot at random by punks looking for an adventure.  And, of course, the endless string of wars.  We can always find a reason for another war.  You took a piece of land that I wanted, let's have a war.  You sailed your ship on my ocean, let's have a war.  We haven't had a war in two years, let's have a war.
    Doctors give kids performance enhancement drug that will eventually ruin their health but thats OK because all that matters is winning a game.  That's more important than the health of young people.  Other doctors get rich doing nip & tuck on rich ladies while thousands die each day due to a lack of medical care.  Thousands of others die of starvation while we hold stuff-your-face contests.
    Yet, we think we are too special to become extinct.  Guess again.  Not only can it happen, it will if we don't wake up and become civilized.  Become as special as we think we are.  Before it's too late.  Time is running out.
