Yes THAT George Washington.  The father of our country.  We know he was a man of vision.  He was also a man of visions.  While he was a general, he had a vision about the future of the colonies.  The place was Valley Forge, in the cold and bitter winter of 1777.  While working on a dispatch, he looked up to see a very beautiful women standing in the room.  When he inquired who she was, there was at first, no answer.  Then the msyterious woman (angel?) looked up and, In Washingtons own words:

"By this time I felt strange sensations spreading through me. I would have risen but the riveted gaze of the being before me rendered volition impossible. I assayed once more to address her, but my tongue had become useless, as though it had become paralyzed."

The whole room seemed to become luminous and charged with energy.  The mysterious figure finally spoke saying:

"Son of the Republic, look and Learn".

He then say Europe, Asia, Africa and America spead out in front of him.  A dark angel lifted water from the ocean and sprinkled it on America and Europe.  Clouds rose and joined in the center of the ocean.  The cloud moved over America with flashes of lightning and the groans and cries of the people. 

(this is generally interpreted as a prediction of the coming war of Independence.)

The vision continued and in the next part he saw a dark cloud from Africa move over america and he saw the inhabitants battling each other (the civil war).  They he saw an angel wearing a crown of Light with the word 'union' on it and heard the words "Remember ye are brothren" .  And the weapons were thrown aside and the people became friends again.

The vision went on to a scene of the dark angel sprinkling water on Europe, Asia, Africa and America and he saw hoards of men marching in battle again (WWI ?).

He then saw America at peace again and new towns and cities springing up from coast to coast.    Then the mysterious figure said ""While the stars remain, and the heavens send down dew upon the earth, so long shall the Union last".
