Ingo Swann is one of the top remote viewers from the twentieth century.  Not only was he gifted as a remote viewer, he also developed the method used to teach others to become remote viewers.  In the 1970's he worked with The Defense Intellegence Agency to study the use of remote viewing and other psychic techniques for gathering intellegence.  Using the methods Swann developed, the DIA continued to train and use remote viewers until 1989 (and you probably thought the government didn't believe in psychic powers!).  After the project ended, a retired General who was involved in the project started the company Psi-Tech to continue the work under a private corporation.
    As you might expect, some stage magicians, those great bearers of all wisdom and knowledge, have labeled Swann, and all other psychics frauds.  But Swann did more than just peek into someone house to see what they were having for dinner.  In one experiment he was asked to do a remote viewing of the planet Jupiter.  One of the things he said was that Jupiter had rings like Saturn.  Although some details were wrong, the Voyager probe later proved that Jupiter did have rings.  The fact that he didn't mention the moons of Jupiter is considered proof by skeptics that he is a fraud, but the remote viewing was only twenty minutes and he was supposed to be viewing Jupiter, not it's moons.
    Swann has done experiments demonstrating some other psychic abilities as well.  He did experiments on using thoughts to influence plants.  He also did some psychokinetic experiments such as changing the temperature inside sealed and insulated thermos bottles.  In another experiment, he was able  to influence the stable magnetic field of a super-cooled Josephson junction inside a quark detector (a complex apparatus designed to detect subatomic particles). 
    Swann retired after nineteen years of participating in research and has never performed publicly, but he does occasionally do lectures.
