Our Imaginary Friends

When we were little kids, most of us had an imaginary friend or two.  Some of the more creative may have had several imaginary friends.  They were often our best friends.  Imaginary friends never complained that they wanted to do something else and not go along with us.  They never told us we were wrong or our ideas were stupid.
Then we go older and our parents started to tell us that imaginary friends were imaginary and we needed to get real friends.  We were getting too old for imaginary friends.  Our real friends and older brothers and sisters may have told us the same thing.  And so we stopped talking to them about our imaginary friends.  Soon after, we stopped talking to our imaginary friends.  And soon we forgot them entirely.
This is unfortunate because imaginary friends can be very helpful.  You can share your problems with them without being criticized.  They never decide they are over you and move on.  They don't move away and forget you.  They don't get sick, hooked on drugs, or die.  They always like to do the things you like to do because they are imaginary.
And now with the new Quantum concepts we are being told that the entire material universe is our imaginary friend!  It is just a hologram created by our thoughts, beliefs, and emotions.  So in a way, we never did give up our imaginary friends because everyone we know is imaginary, at least in a material sense.  Spirits are real but the physical appearance is just a mask.  A disguise.  We each create our imaginary self, our disguise, with our beliefs and thoughts and the beliefs and thoughts of those who know us.
Most of us are not aware of this so we don't know the power we have to change ourselves and others by changing out thoughts, and beliefs.  It isn't easy, but it can be done.  We have to stop thinking we are victims being controlled by the circumstances like a piece of driftwood.  We have to learn to see how we are largely crating those circumstances and correct them.   We are all getting too old to let the imaginary material universe control us.
