Make a Difference

We can all make a difference in the world we live in.  You don't have to be a celebrity to do so.  I'm sure we can all agree that the world is not perfect, yet few are doing anything to really change it.  Yes, we have environmentalists trying to save the environment and animal rights groups fighting for animals, and various charities trying to help in other ways.  Those are all good things to do, but, like putting itch cream on a rash, they treat symptoms, not causes.  We really need to get to the root cause of the worlds illness if we are going to succeed.
The root cause is materialism.  By that, I mean the belief that the material world is an improvement on the spiritual or, worse yet, that there is no spiritual world, only material or physical.  This belief causes us to always seek physical solutions to problems when a spiritual solution is often what's needed.
First, we need to understand what spirit is.  It is not, as some think, emotions.  Emotions are very much a part of the physical brain.  It is also not psychic.  Psychic is a step in the right directions, but not the destination.  We essentially exist on three levels:

1) The physical, which includes the brain mind
2) The psychic level
3) The spiritual level which includes the spiritual mind or soul

While all the levels are interconnected, you usually can't cure a psychic or spiritual illness by treating the physical body or mind.  If the problem is at the psychic level, as many of todays problems are, they have to be treated at the psychic or spiritual level.  So how do you treat a psychic or spiritual illness?  Generally, you can't.  You have to let God do it.  It sounds easy, but it isn't.  In order to let God correct the problem you have to get over the egotistical idea that you can do everything yourself and surrender yourself to God to be healed.
