I Asked
I asked the stars to guide me through the night.
They said "alright".
I asked the sun to guide me through the day.
He said "OK".
I asked the wind to help me on my way.
She said "I may".
I asked the rainbow to guide me through the storm.
"Yes, that's my norm".
I asked the rock to give me strength.
"Sure, at length".
I asked the fire to warm my bones.
"I will" he moans.
I asked the Light to fill my eye
With visions from beyond the sky
With knowledge from the other side
To wake me up before I died.
He did.
They said "alright".

He said "OK".
I asked the wind to help me on my way.

I enjoy all of your poems and writings although I often don't respond just due to time and sometimes for lack of what to say. But I had to respond to this one because I really love it. I like them all but this one really caught me. Maybe someday you should turn your poems into a book.

Perhaps one day I'll put together a book of poems with photos to illustrate.

This poem is beautiful. I am so glad that you have found youre purpose in life. Have you read "A New Earth" by Echart Tolle?

Thanks. I haven't read that book but I've heard of Tolle. I'll give it a look.
