Scripture: Matthew 3:16-17

And Jesus, when he was baptized, went up straightaway, out of the water;
And lo, the heavens were opened unto him, and he saw The Spirit of God,
descending like a dove, and lighting upon him: and lo a voice from heaven, saying, this is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.

This is probably the best known description of the Epiphany of Jesus.  Artists often illustrate this very literally and depict Jesus with a dove of light over his head and a large hole in the sky above.  I think it was meant more figuratively as a bright, white light descended from above and left Jesus glowing in the brilliant white Light of God's Spirit.  That Light which can awaken us as well and allow us to become true Children of God.
